- Main entrance is best in North and East direction.
- If the facing of the plot is not North or East, gate in that direction is not possible. So the next best direction is in West but in no case gate should be in South direction
- Some of the books on Vastu suggest having gate in 4th position of the plot after dividing it into 9 parts. This is not necessary at all. Entrance is strictly subject to proper verification of site.
- Entrance gate should be heavy and bigger than any other gate in the house.
- If there is more than one entrance, they should never be in line.
- The main door should open inside.
- The doors, while opening should not make sound.
- Color of the gate should be light but South facing gate should have light yellow color.
- There should not be any garbage in front of the gate.
- There should not be any obstruction in front of the main gate which is also called Dwar Vedh.
- Dwar Vedh are electric pole, other poles, pillars, transformer, tree, temple, mosque, tomb etc. These have very bad impact on the Vastu of the Vastu.
- Main door should not face any other main door. If it happens, move your main door slightly either way.
- There should be no any wall just in front of the Main Gate.
- Main gate should not face any inner door or stairs of the house.
- Min door should not face the entrance of the lift.
- There should always be a small gate attached to the main gate.
- Guard room should be made on left side of the main gate but it should not fall in North East or South West.
- Main gate should not be transparent or such from which the whole house can be seen.
- There should not be any septic tank, sump, bore well etc. on the way to main gate.
- Rainwater should not fall on the main gate.
- Red color should not be used in main gate until and unless owner own astrological chart allows it.
