The most common question asked in Vastu is about the sitting position in office or shop. Most of the Vastu Experts have generalized it and recommend South-West position with their face in either East or North. But South-West is not suitable in some cases. The position of sitting should be decided on the basis of the nature of work/job/business/profession. A sales person should sit in North- West area of the office or they may have their office in the North-West area of the premises as this area belongs to air and keep the person moving. If such person sits in SW, he might find it difficult to achieve his sales targets. Similarly, an artist should sit in South-East area as they will be more energetic and creative. A director or the owner should sit in South-West direction as it provides stability, power and growth. Facing East enhances prosperity whereas facing North enhances finance.
There are certain people for whom the sitting area and direction should be decided on the basis of their work and not merely by following the thumb rule of Vastu.
